1. What is this initiative about?
We are committed to transforming graduate and legal education by enhancing student well-being, resilience, and inclusivity. Our approach is research-based and tailored to help institutions create supportive, high-impact learning environments.

Our program is designed for law schools and graduate institutions looking to improve student engagement, mental health, and academic resilience. It is particularly beneficial for students from underrepresented backgrounds who may face additional challenges in higher education.

We implement targeted engagement strategies, including needs assessments, mindset-shifting strategies, and midyear check-ins, to help students navigate academic challenges, build confidence, and persist in their education.

Unlike traditional top-down approaches, we take a student-centered, research-backed strategy that meets students where they are. Our solutions are based on students experiences and are continuously refined to ensure effectiveness.

Our interventions range from structured reflection exercises and peer support initiatives to faculty-led discussions that normalize academic struggles. We also provide tailored online and in-person resources to foster resilience.

We are working on a detailed playbook based on our initiative, along with consulting support to help institutions adapt these strategies to their unique needs.

Our work is grounded in psychological and educational research, including studies on growth mindset, stereotype threat, and student engagement. Our strategies have been tested and refined over several years at Pitt Law with measurable success. You can read more here.
